in both fight club and the wizard of oz reality is viewed similarily. they have different world views but in the beginning of fight club when tyler durden has insomnia and hasn't slept for weeks he describes reality as "an out of body experience" like he isn living he is just dreaming and observing his life. this compares to the wizard of oz reality because basically the whole movie is dorthy's dream where anything can happen yet she is never in real danger. she is dreaming her dream and observing herself and her friends.
