Conflict- " Bye bye Miss American Pie"His love of music. his love. its dying. thats conflicting4. Hope and Redemption- "The day the music dies"He wants his music back. His hope is that it comes back but it cant so he has no redemption.5. Values- " I met a girl who sang the blues" " Bye Bye miss American Pie"Theres a connection but I dont want to discuss it. He values his music. Not so much the rest of the world.6. Truth- " I couldnt take one more step"He is talking about himself and his relationship with the world this whole time. The only universe we know from this work is him and music. To say the world is nothing without music is not based on this work. To say the author is representing a secular humanist view of himself is correct.

TYLER DURDEN&DORTHY

in both fight club and the wizard of oz reality is viewed similarily. they have different world views but in the beginning of fight club when tyler durden has insomnia and hasn't slept for weeks he describes reality as "an out of body experience" like he isn living he is just dreaming and observing his life. this compares to the wizard of oz reality because basically the whole movie is dorthy's dream where anything can happen yet she is never in real danger. she is dreaming her dream and observing herself and her friends.

PARADISE LOST:MAMMON

mammon was the lowliest of satans demons. he is very greedy and never satisfied. he caused others to be this way and ruin things. Mammon is the demon of avarice. Milton says he taught men to rend the breast of the earth to wrest away her treasures.

WIZARD OF OZ

the worldview that the wizard of oz is cosmic humanism. its this because the message that the wizard of oz reveals is that we all have a power inside of us. this can be seen by dorthy's journey of not believing in herself to at the end she finally realizes it in herself and becomes her own identity.
